Hammond Lake

Hammond Lake is a reservoir located in Clarion County, Pennsylvania. It was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1962 to provide flood control, recreational opportunities, and water supply for the surrounding communities. The lake covers an area of 640 acres and has a maximum depth of 27 feet. It is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and wildlife watching, with species such as black bass, crappie, walleye, bluegill, and catfish present. The lake is also the site of the federally-managed Allegheny River National Recreation Area, which offers hiking trails, campsites, picnic areas, and a visitor center.
